We first met Gwyn during an editorial photoshoot with us. She had a quiet elegance, and we naturally started chatting between scenes. That’s when she mentioned that aquamarine is her birthstone, and that she’s always been drawn to soft blue and white gemstones — colors that feel calm, clean, and timeless to her.

Later on, she told us she was interested in creating a custom ring — something simple, meaningful, and true to her everyday style. She shared that she missed the summers she spent near the ocean in Cape Cod — the waves, the light, the peaceful feeling of being by the water. That memory became the inspiration for the piece.

After understanding her preferences and the story behind the design, we put together seven hand-drawn concepts for her to choose from. When she saw the drafts, she was really surprised by how closely they reflected her ideas. The designs felt personal, but still minimal and wearable — a balance she really appreciated.

She chose a silver-toned ring with a soft 1ct aquamarine in the center, surrounded by gentle wave-like curves and a few small pearls — subtle details that tied everything back to the ocean, without being too literal or ornate.

A few days later, she visited our Upper East Side store to try on different stone sizes and see the sketches in person. After trying a few options, she chose the 1ct aquamarine as the best fit — not too bold, but just enough to feel special.

About two weeks later, the finished piece was ready. When she came to pick it up, she was so happy — it felt like her story had been turned into something she could carry with her.

This was the first time we documented a full custom journey from start to finish. It meant a lot to us — not just because of the result, but because of the connection behind it.

We’re the Aris Design Team who love creating jewelry that tells real stories.

Most of the time, we’re able to sketch initial concepts within one to two days. And from the first draft to the finished piece, our custom process usually takes around two weeks — efficient, but never rushed.

What matters most to us is understanding the person behind the piece. Before we draw anything, we want to hear your story, your inspirations, your style — the little things that matter. We carefully fold those details into each design while staying true to our aesthetic: elegant, minimal, and wearable.

We know custom jewelry can be intricate, even overwhelming, especially when it’s meant to carry personal meaning. But our team has a way of translating those stories through a creative, clean design lens — so each piece feels timeless, intentional, and easy to wear.

We don’t believe custom work is only for rare occasions or extravagant budgets. Sometimes, it’s just about marking a quiet moment, or celebrating yourself. And if there’s a story you’d like to turn into something you can wear — we’d love to help you design it.
